you will also benefit personally from this experience.  By creating your own family tree and exploring your own “mirror” issues you will have the opportunity to begin resolution through multiple practice sessions.  Remember: The more you know, the deeper you go!

 More Specifically it encompasses material encountered in

       A)   Module 9:  Matrix, group and family are the obvious       

            application.

       B)   Module 6:  8^th Chakra Maternal and Paternal generational

            discovery.

       C)   Module 2:  Active Memory Content including Belief Systems

            and Event issues.

     D)   Orientation:  Can reflect the majority of these concepts

          found in Environment and Active Memory) from Person,

          Place, Activity, Emotion. etc.

     E)   Emotion:  Since we learn about emotion initially from family

          dynamics, the exploration to the complexities of emotions

          beyond the 5 classic ones, will be presented.

     F)   Mirroring:  In honoring this basic concept of BodyTalk

          theory, the exploration and balancing of one’s own

          unresolved family of origin issues will promote a more

          effective session.

  Content:

a)  Each student will construct their own Multigenerational Family Genogram (FamilyTree) before he actual class.  Upon registration, a packet of information containing guidelines references will be mailed out for completion before the scheduled class.  This personal application will not only start the process before the actual class, but will also providefamily dynamic information for exploration during the seminar.  I will utilize student genogram information for application of theory. 

Systems Theory which I have been utilizing consistently for over 25 years on every psychotherapy client that I see in may role as a system based family therapist, This approach is well respected since its initial roots in family therapy and is relatively simple in its application yet has infinite comprehensive applications.  In many ways it reminds me of BodyTalk “Zone” Concept while exploring this genogram in right Brain application.

  The following concept will be illustrated for deeper understanding of family constellation dynamics:

3. Triangulation

4.  Sibling Position

5.  Family Fusion and cut off

6.  Step/adopted/non-traditional/blended family dynamics

      Students will have numerous practice opportunities with each other to complete BodyTalk Sessions with supervision as well as to explore and practice family system applications

       Why Family System Evaluation,  Why Not?  We know that patterns of illness, physical, emotional and environmental are seeded in our past, and like ripples in a pond merge to form waves, and eventually a health crisis - a Tsunami out of control.  “Stuff flows downstream” and the more we know the deeper we go!  It is like you are in a family detective school, not only looking at “the scene of the health crime/crisis”, but specific investigational skills to follow the clues, the causative agents back through the generations for not only current relief but to set a pattern of primary prevention for future generations - Hugh indeed!

     Consider how this information can promote and advance your clinical practice and the opportunity for a unique experience for you continued personal healing journey in a safe non-invasive and non-blame fashion. Family Systems Theory incorporates a systems approach, this is a perfect complement to BodyTalk theory.  This content broadens basic module information and embraces advanced practice. It provides a format to interview, record and organize your data in this family tree, or multigenerational genogram format.  This is also a great tool for distant remote sessions and provides a structure for direct engagement – whether you know the client or not.  Over the past few years, this procedure has evolved into a process tool. – with opportunity to link and balance on the genogram itself. Huge again!

     Exploration of family dynamics, emotion and patterns of functional and dysfunctional behavior follows the work of Murray Bowen, and early founder of the field. You will learn to construct the genogram, and explore family dynamics in detail.  You also have multiple opportunities to practice with each other so integration of these skills is ready for your next session.  In fact students have reported enhanced awareness and significant shifts in class, as well as follow up reports of success with challenging client situations.

     As a mental health practitioner, I also incorporate general concepts of psychiatric and addictive illness, with focus on safe and ethical practice  management concepts. Thus, this is an opportunity to ask questions and explore a variety of mental health issues.

     I have also re-introduced the exploration of energy dynamics of systems through a variety of kinesiological exercises in addition to “constellation – like” experiences.  As a point of clarification, this is not a constellation class, as this is not my training and expertise, and is why the course title was changed years ago to reflect the theoretical evaluation of family dynamics.  In fact, family constellation is used as a generic term in the field, and represents a variety of theories. 

     We also take time to play – as Laughter Yoga Leader, I will incorporate this plus gentle Qi Gong and breath exercises to assist in this intense content!  This is why I have expanded the course to 3 full days offering 21 elective credits.  All BodyTalk practitioners are welcome, regardless of level of study, and extensive personal family history is not necessary for success.
